Thank for this chapter and the very interesting notes! It's very interesting to know why the fountain pen is named that way, I've always wondered about it.
Tbf, they only valued gold at the time and platinum wasn't incredibly useful for anything until more electronic systems came into being. Heita's mentioning of how blacksmiths hated it because it damaged their tools just reinforced the historical lack of use that it held for many, until he mentions "just recently" part about the pens and a new found, and more importantly, profitable use for platinum.
