Aww once Sugimoto heard Ogata's name he immediately went to call Vasily, what good friends they are

Also the strength of these characters are just insane. Boutarou just slammed a whole wooden table over Professor Penis' head (already impressive) but he just shrugs it off and is pleasantly surprised to see pirate again

@spurgleburgle Hijitaka knows some of the Skins he has are fake, but I doubt he can identify which ones are real, and the only one who knows is... First Lieutanant Tsurumi. But I don't discard that he wants to pull a big one on them

I'm just gonna add this theory.

At first, I thought when Yuusaku's ghost(/hallucinations) appear behind Ogata, it's because Ogata wants to shot Asirpa and it "remind" him the result of his deeds.

But you could also think that Yuusaku's ghost protecting him from Vasily (he's already gone when Vasily reach the roof and I think he's not aware Sugimoto's group bring Vasily).

The fact that we never been showed Yuusaku's face I think it's related to Ogata's attitude towards him. So yeah we're still gonna have Ogata redemption arc. And it will include Asirpa.

I bet Vasily is so immersed with his group that he forgot his original goal. I hope he sticks around for the whole journey, he's quiet but still a neat addition.

Why'd Noda have to turn a stone-cold Russian sniper into such a cute dork!? Now I'll be sad if something bad happens to him.

I didn't realize this, but I read a comment on reddit that explains what happened with Ogata; what he's seeing behind him is the ghost of his half-brother, Yuusaku. Asirpa reminds Ogata of him because they're both pure, having never killed anyone.

I've started to think that Ogata is allied with the Central government, ever since the reveal that Kikuda is. This kind of throws a wrench in that theory, since Central's plan is to let Tsurumi find the gold, and then eliminate him, but knowing Ogata, he'd definitely betray his bosses' plans just to spite everybody else, so it's not out of the question that he's working with Central. That, or he really is just doing whatever he wants and messing with everyone.

Also, I've just thought of this now, but doesn't the Republic of Ezo plan also side with Kiroranke's goal? It seems like Hijikata could've told Kiroranke that his plan would provide a country for the Russian partisans and they would be on the same side. I guess Kiroranke wanted to carve out a home for his people in Russia instead, but I don't see why he would care where the land was.
Because Kiroranke wanted Asirpa to be an actual leader of the Ainu and other ethnic groups while Hijikata want to use her as a puppet while he would be the one ruling over the Republic of Ezo. Hijikata doesn't care about the ethnic groups he just wants his own country independent from the Meiji government, while Kiroranke wants to protect the traditions of the ethnic groups.

Usami found Ogata. That is not good. Not good at all.

And hopefully Asirpa's conclusion at the end was from seeing fake skins.
