I'm as sick of the absurdly abusive nobility typically portrayed in low-effort fantasy as the next guy, but this is so far in the other direction it makes your brain short circuit. How is this garbage award-winning? Was there literally no other competitors?

The only good thing about this shitass series is the fact that my one-star rating dropped its score below 6.00.

Seems fine enough, having read the first 10 or so chapters that are up here.

At a glance, part of the novel contest winner discussion thing people are bringing up, I can only say one thing everyone seems to forget: Some series are better as novels, others as manga, and others as anime. I can think of a few novels that failed imo as anime but are still solid/good, and some that shouldn't have been made manga.

I'm confused why people call the art for this series good when it's obvious the artist is tracing over reference models, and not particularly well either. His faces are flat and mask-like while his joints and posing are stiff.
That said with the detailing, I could bet he's just giving this series as much effort as it really deserves: None.
