This story was cute despite its setting. And MAN do I have questions about the setting.

Even with this final chapter, the setting hints at some underlying shady stuff. Why is she hiding her beastkin features now of all times? Is she not being allowed to leave the country? Why?

Well, it was too soon but I'm glad it got a happy ending. Considering how many good manga get lackluster endings I'm grateful this one was handled so well, even if I did cry ;-;

I hope that Itou Hachi does another series with this same setting so we can learn more about the lore since a lot of questions are still unanswered. Still glad it got a happy ending.

Well, to all people commenting here you need to know that there are two versions of this series, the original doujinshi version that it is still being published by Itou Hachi at doujinshi events like Comitia and Comiket and this commercial version published on Comic Walker and then compiled as three volumes by Kadokawa, the last one published on 24th March. Now that the commercial version has ended and it is already translated to English by Chaosteam (well, they are still working on the extras of the third volume), then it will focus on the original doujinshi version.

The original doujinshi version is being published since Comiket 88, that was held on August 2015, the most recent one seems to be the one published on the past Comitia that was held on 25th November and it would not be strange to see a new one published on the first day of Comiket 95 that will be held on December 29th. Of all those doujinshi published until now about this series, only three have been translated to English by Yuri-ism, the ones published on Comiket 88, 89 and 90, besides that they also compiled and translated some illustrations and shorts comics published by Itou Hachi on Twitter and Pixiv. The problem now it seems that Yuri-ism has dropped that project, they have not published a new translation since a year and a half ago, it seems they are focusing now on Tsuki ga Kirei Desu ne (same author), although there it is still a bigger problem left that I need to expose

Like I said before, Itou Hachi has always published her new doujinshi at events like Comitia and Comiket and some of those doujinshi are sold at stores like MelonBooks and Toranoana, there even should be digital versions of some of those doujinshi that were sold at physical stores. The problem now is that sometimes for whatever reason Itou Hachi decides to sold some of her new doujinshi as "event-only" doujinshi, that means that your only opportunity to get one of those new event-only doujinshi is buying it at events like Comitia or Comiket or buying it as an overpriced second hand doujinshi at stores like Surugu-ya if you are lucky enough to catch it at time before they are sold out. So it seems that we have got scans and English translations for the first three doujinshi, but currently we are lacking scans of the fourth to the fourteenth doujinshi on that series, that is, we are royally fucked, unless someone scans those doujinshi.

So if you really , really love this series and the works done by Itou Hachi and want to help, then buy at least one of those unscanned doujinshi, then scan it and then upload it to Internet. Chaosteam has already replied to me saying that they are interested on translating the original doujinshi version if they can get a hold on RAWs of the untranslated doujinshi , but without RAWs they can do nothing.

If you want to play the game of the treasure hunter of Itou Hachi lost treasures then I will put those links as help:

Itou Hachi works: This is a page of her personal website and on that page she lists all of her works. All of the doujinshi with the kanji "ご主人様" at the beggining of their name and the ones with the names わたしのともだち and わたしのすきなこ are the doujinshi of the original version of this series, they are ordered from bottom to top. The first and the second published on 2015 and the third published on 2016 are already translated, so all of the ones since the forth are currently missing scans and translations and those are what you need to buy, scan and upload, so Chaosteam can work on them. The books with the names C88無料配布本 and 冬コミコピー本 may also have content of this series, but I can not confirm or deny that.

Doujinshi.org If you need a visual help like covers, date of publication and events where they were published then this could help, although three of the fourteen doujinshi are missing on that database

@Strela
She majored in nihonga (Japanese-style painting) at university and then worked as a background artist for an animation production company. At the same time she worked as a background artist, she was also active on the doujin scene mainly on Nintendo games and Moomins, but she made the switch to yuri doujinshi after some years. The rest is history.

Feels strange, man. She looks kinda shackled, captivated or ... manipulated by Mel's cuteness.
They sure still have a long way to find out their true feelings. At least, that's how it looks to me.

Well, it's good they finally got time for themselves.
