Did the author forget that the demihumans only accepted the MC because he's basically "one of the good ones?" Even the guards and leaders were willing to have dragged behind the tents in the magical favela and have him beaten to death by a mob.

No, he didn't forget.

But the reaction is different depending on the circumstances and age of the demi-humans and how long they've been mistreated by the Holy Kingdom's people.
Those who were sent to slave away at the mines or the refugees who traveled to the black forest who were all demi-humans and have been mistreated by the holy kingdom humans all their lives like children or young people would have that negative reaction to any human.

But you forget that it's been said the original Merinard was a mixed race nation. So there were humans living peacefully with the demi-humans before their subjugation 20 years prior by the Holy Kingdom.

Go back to chapter 38, page 12 where after conquering the forts, they have an influx of demi-human refugees from neighboring villages with "old merinard kingdom" human soldiers among them. That means those demi-humans who still interact or have contact with old merinard humans who don't have any kind of bigotry or racism have a lesser or no negative reaction to meeting other humans or acknowledge not every human is a Holy Kingdom human supremacist.

Since this is a manga it's limited in how much world building and info it can cram into it.

There are several POV chapters in the LN/WN where they show some the humans who lived in the old Merinard were coerced to work as soldiers or guards for the Holy Kindgom rule under the threat of harm to their demi-human families or neighbors and hold no love for the holy kingdom rule.

Quoting one such from one of the towns they liberate later in the story:

But now that my wife, my children, and the rest of my kin had been taken hostage, there was nothing I could do. This garrison was composed entirely of soldiers who were born here in Gleiseburg, and there wasn’t a single one of us who had any true loyalty toward the Holy Kingdom or to Adolism.

When I was still just a child, they burst into Gleiseburg like they owned the place. They hurt my childhood friend just for being a demi-human. They hurt the older boys and girls from the neighborhood who used to play with me. They hurt the older men and women. They said that because I involved myself with demi-humans, I was a sinful barbarian, and looked down on me for it. Those assholes could go to hell for all I cared

Hmm ... The talk of God and why he place our boy in the woods got me thinking, maybe he was put there because someone is twisting his teachings to their greedy ways and he wants our boy to correct it. Like he needed him to be on the demi humans side then have him be with his saintess to move in the direction he wants. It sure seems like it

see that's what I'm thinking, because unironically, that is what I think to an extent might have happened in the real world, not just Christianity but with a lot of religions.

they start out good and about treating each other's as equals right? but then some corrupt piece of s*** come to power and then twist the religion to basically suit their agendas and goals and greed.

anyway back to this story, yeah I think the God in this world or at least one of them because I feel like there should be multiple?

took our boy from our world and placed him in this world intentionally close to the Demi humans, so he could befriend them and learned their situation and learned what the humans have done to them and in response? site with them and put balance to the world.

because he would want to make the humans and Demi humans friends again.

Here we go again with the issue of monogamy! Men need to dismiss the outdated beliefs stemming from the teachings of the European Church.
The truth is that polygamy has been the principle for men since the beginning of humanity. A man can choose to have one wife or several; it's entirely a matter of personal choice. If this "Lord Adol" character claims that you mustn't steal from your neighbor, does that include land? And bloodlines? And maybe castles?
Because the "Holy Empire" seems to have missed that entire part.
