It would be one thing if it was stealthy, you know? Like, they manage to beat the antagonist of the week and he escapes, but the support knows that the team just got lucky (because they didn't step in), and then while everyone is celebrating, they sneak away and deal with that antagonist permanently so that the team has time to get strong enough to deal with the next threat, and then carries on as it that didn't happen. I still don't think that would be
great, but it would be better.
It's honestly one of the things I like about
Reincarnated as a Sword: Master is clearly more powerful than Fran, but he lets her do basically everything and only steps in himself when it's the
only way to win, and as the story goes on, he steps in less and less because she gets better and better, and when he does step in, it's usually in the form of "I'll handle spells against the small fry, you focus on the boss."
Come to think of it, I had a problem with that bullshit tracking bullet too: It completely minimizes the skill and ability of everyone else and makes it all about Fuji.
