I feel that at some point both are going to be in a situation. Shinobu is going to have to pick and Fumi is going to encourage him to go after her while preparing herself for what's to come on her end.

Essentially to pick which girl to save from a sexual situation.

Yeah, we'd have to see more of Sakura's life other than just snippets to get her true feelings. Of course she's going to be smiling and look happy at work and with friends. It's only when she's alone or at home will her true feelings come out.
