Honestly, learning the language yourself is just more reliable because you still have to deal with context, most tools would just capture text and translate based on the text alone. For example, a character is talking about a known female character, but the translated text defaulted using male genitive markers because the raw text never specified the subject's gender. Discrepancies like these where a human reader should be able to easily point it out is an easy tell that the translator likely used mtl and never bothered to double-check.
