Have you checked out Love Quest? Artist of Circles branched out on his own and is the Author/Artist of it. He's a better artist now and the character interactions, even during sex, are so wholesome. while Shinobu's laying down on the floor reading Sakura's news on his phone and thinking about Sakura but it happened in chapter 131, not 132 that the author tried to twist the story by inserting Nagi and Mio.

We don't know they're dating or not but chapter 132-133 was an attempt from the author to make us believe they'd one-time sex by comparing to both Nagi and Mio.

We all agree Airi Katsura (sensei) is a poor author and that is the reason why I think she didn't work with chapter 134-136 anymore because they changed the way to portray the story. Maybe, Keishi Nikishida sensei took over both roles (author and artist).

While it does seem less close, there's any number of reasons for her to have swapped other than them not getting together after that one night, so calling it obvious...nah, I don't think so.
