I understand what the author is going for, but for the life of me I can't get interested in seeing pages and pages of what is essentially war-fluff while the main character(s) get one 'scene' every five chapters.
All that stuff with the tank in chapter 19-20-21 could have been summed up as a throw-away line in the background somewhere. The only thing that you get out of all that is that this civil war is quasi racial, but not completely, and that brings some amount of who-dun-it troubles whenever info gets leaked (which just happens in war anyway).
The worst part in the later chapters is that not only is the main character mostly out of sight, she is also not being active. Unlike the farmhouse attack mini-arc, where she was constantly being kept at hand thematically, now she did her bit and basically faded away. Maybe it would be easier to take if I'd started reading this far in the future, and I would have sailed over these chapters back-to-back but I'm stuck reading one chapter every other months, following event and characters I simply cannot bring myself to care about.
Maybe that's what I'll do actually, drop this temporarily and pick it back up when the Miura-boat has sailed past this arc completely.
