Considering the first season of the animated series ended with this arc...conservation of detail is not a thing.

Except if you apply it through another method,then yes,it does exist.

They have rearranged how the ghost explanation came about,but I would hazard that was just to get the arc to actually end by the 12th episode.

If the ending does have a fundamental change,though,that'd be both interesting and not the best of signs...Arpeggio Of Blue Steel fans know this all too well.

And i am gonna guess further. Shinigami has the same mindset with Alina. Alina destroys dungeon boss to avoid overwork, the legendary receptionist kidnaps problematic adventures to avoid overwork.
