I hope the story goes into more detail about hermits. Id like to think its a powerful class that is thought of as weak because hermits all have the same mindset and are all happy with the misconception.

Is there a novel based on this work? Or is it an original manga?

I believe he understood that his sister wanted to protect him, since it's unknown what his father would do to him. He would kill him or worse, turn him into a slave. At least being expelled would give him a better chance of survival. I've seen some works where the protagonist wasn't expelled, but suffered severe abuse for years before escaping.
