First up, how is she alive with that level of abuse and neglect? If she was that malnourished she'd have died long ago from infections and sickness.

Second up it makes no sense to keep her alive, if they are faking her health status then they should have just killed her and been done with it.

Thirdly I hate the stupid trope "I'll just smile through the abuse cause my mom said to always smile" aint no way some barely out of toddler age would have this capacity.
