There better be consequences for the unprecedented hand-restoring magic. This is the sort of thing that gets swept under the rug in bad manga, but should affect her reputation about her magic prowess in good manga and what kind of knowledge she knows.
I do hope people are like “what the fuck??” Because it’s a reasonable thought when people regrow their hands

Unless the ex-fiance covers it up (either by intention or by disbelief, I think his ego is so big he genuinely doesn't believe she lost and replaced her hand). I think it could be written to go either way, but if she's going to move from "just some maid" to "sage-level genius" in even the public eye, the dynamic between the two leads will inevitably shift a lot in accordance.

Hard to say what's actually going to be done. I agree that if it's completely unmentioned after this it would be total bullshit.

What a great breakup scene! The hallway slap was such a reversal from the usual ostentatious gathering and bullying issues in interesting ways. It was cramped, focus was on a panicking maid, and yet everything still turns sharply to the villain getting slapped punched and broken up with. How would that even be animated? It's all the better because it wasn't some scenic epic situation, it was Almelia taking a small and politically inopportune step, too late for excuses, out of nowhere and for little from nobility POV. The prince is just selfish scum obsessed with his moral high ground, but breaking the engagement is something he can probably speed up... Forget what his maid said about not treating Almelia well, he's shit to any third parties even if he's usually a gilded turd.

And the relationship development! Almelia made a fast decision preferring her true love, and Serina got repeatedly hit by how this world differs from the game and became even more deeply comitted.

Worldbuilding though? How much faith should we have in the creator? We didn't get mecha-Serina, but her knowledge did give away a lot to Almelia this chapter so it's not zero consequences. Robotics fits a fantasy setting but it's still almost never treated with the real depth and trauma of IRL prosthetics, so I'm not upset about the handwaving. Genetic info is probably too cheaty to go far outside of a science focused novel. But. Almelia can gain a lot from her future lover.

Enough gushing... there was some handwaving along the way but this is my favorite chapter so far. So pivotal. Now kiss.:wooow:

If magic can smooth out the complications of muscle strengthening don't see it as too much of a stretch in smoothing out issues with regeneration if forced to remake limbs.

other then that bye prince hello Yuri with complications

While other people are bashing the not having a prosthetic hand thing, I do like it because it alludes to the sort of specialness that Serina has.
She's a human from Earth, to whom magic is alien, and therefore, she is far more aware of than anyone else.
She's a commoner maid whose skill with magic could potentially overturn the fundamental ideas of their entire society, she just lacks that ambition.
Once people realize she didn't fake having lost a hand for clout, they're going to realize that she actually healed her hand, and that's going to create some major waves.

To play devil's advocate a bit, if someone lost their freaking hand, and it was someone's fault and the person later shows up and goes "haha, lookie here! It's healed up all by itself, you don't have to worry." it'd probably mess anyone up. He's still a gigantic asshole with self esteem issues who lashed out and just made it worse, but I think to him it came across like it was a huge joke, like who the hell just heals a missing hand naturally, when there's no precedent?

Right. Well, I can understand the prince overreacting since that level of healing is probably unheard of in this world and he probably thought they were trying to prank him...

Actually no, I don't get it at all. At least he himself would've known she really lost her hand, right? But instead of being relieved that her hand is healed or amazed at the potential of new magic, he lost his temper? I don't get it... :worry:
I suspect that's it a matter of pride.

The prince's ego is overwhelming. He can't stand the idea of someone outdoing him.
Even the act of having to apologize and take responsibility was something that disturbed him.

When he found out that she had already fixed the damage he caused, his pride couldn't take it. Because he was already struggling with the thought of having to apologize. When he found that he didn't have to, all those disgusted feelings he was suppressing at the thought of having to apologize just erupted and he lashed out at her.

My dream of a cool full metal maid is no more T_T

I'm fine with the author not having any real consequences and keeping it light but metal arms are cool.

Finally maid-chan realizes she wants to be with almelia always. Now she just needs to understand that it's love plz :3

I think the asspull could have been worse, it seems it took days to regrow a hand going full effort so that sets a precedent on how taxing it is to regrow lost limbs for Serina so she cant just pop a whole limb, say, midcombat if there is a moment like that. All in all things are still pretty consistent with what was previously established and implied so im not really annoyed at that part.

Also yeah fuck that prince, the maid was only doing her job tho, if later its shown she is an asshole by nature like the prince then ill act in accordance

Why did he even say that? Whats wrong with him?
While limb healing magic might be considered impossible, I’m sure there’s some version of illusion magic out there so technically, it’d make more sense for this to be an attempt to manipulate him than an actual miracle.

it also helps that he’s got a very classist attitude. He’s the prince so therefore he should be the best and there’s no way his fiancé can be stronger than him since That means there’s something wrong with him. This, a commoner doing magic beyond even him is even more impossible and it’d hurt his pride to even consider it

so in his mind, he sees the impossible after actually feeling guilty about something for the first time in his life, and snaps out of anger. I’m sure someone would’ve eventually convinced him that he did just see a freaking miracle but not til long after his rampage ended. Not sure if that’ll happen now. His fiancé dumping him (further hurting his pride) might actually be a more pressing matter to him than the god tier commoner
