He used to be an adventurer, but now he's just a dedicated magician. I'm sure everyone can fill in the blanks for why he's no longer an adventurer.

hmmm, how come that teacher, he could sense his student staying in 1 spot for 5 years but he never went to go see him?

Eww. But, ‘25 year old’ really doesn’t resonate in this interaction. Also, 20% is really generous.

I'd rather the lord elaborate on why the MC seems inexperienced after entering the room rather than MC converting fiction currency to yen (I just have to mention this as this keeps repeating itself)
everything is fine as long as it's a story with powerful MC that has no struggle in life and gets rewarded just living his life huh...what a farce.

I don't understand. Why would he give his inheritance over?? God, these MC's that just go with the flow grind my gears.

I don't understand. Why would he give his inheritance over?? God, these MC's that just go with the flow grind my gears.
Because it wasn't legally his inheritance (Alfred has no legal authority to hand over his Lord's property as if he owned it, most likely he was just giving it to the MC for safekeeping and because as an actual corpse that's disappeared into thin air he can't really use it). It didn't belong to him, but it did - legally and morally - belong to the Margrave. And "finders keepers" isn't going to hold up when you can prove that it was the Margrave's property.

Also... And this is the most important bit - the Margrave is really fucking powerful and influential. And pissing him off is really, really fucking stupid. This is a guy that had a 2,000 man strong army just to go searching for plants to save his son and he had a head mage and another one as his apprentice. You don't fuck with a guy like that, even if you're an isekai protagonist. Unless you want to reincarnate again, anyways.

But, most importantly, it was the right thing to do. And the Margrave wasn't a dick about it and let the MC keep 20% of the value of all the supplies. Pretty fucking fair and hefty payday for just emptying a bag, don't you think? Best of all, that's legally his money now. Whereas the contents in the pouch were not.

This was actually a realistic thing to happen, which is actually strange as hell and a welcomed thing in most trash isekai. This is actually one of the small details the manga got right.

Really? You can't think of any reason why he didn't go out there while thinking his student had possibly turned into a subjugation target? Don't forget that Bell actually "killed" him to finish off their time together, and was pretty broken up about it with like a few weeks of acquaintance. Now imagine you're the teacher who spent far more time with Al, possibly being like a parent to him in the course of being his mentor. As long as he wasn't hurting anyone, it's pretty normal to hesitate on even trying to make contact when it could be a pretty messy, and likely final, reunion.

I find it annoying how the mc is praised for nothing and gets girls for nothing while he's friend is just ignored.

This plot is illogical. His family is basically discarded him while EVEYRONE else looses their minds just to have MC on their side. It doesn't make sense.
In this chapter plot is forced. Met nobles, skipped dialogue and he told them everything he knows... Why?
I hate stupidity like this in any manga

And thats how you get scammed /jk

He got 1 billion cent in money for handing down 50 million on resources, which help the lord of the area, plus a home. Thats a win if you ask me. And he also got to keep the personal belongings, the magic items.

Every single time this dumb ass mc converts fantasy money into yen I get a fucking headache. He does this A LOT by the way! My head is killing me! 😠
I feel like taking all my monopoly money to japan and demanding they convert it into yen for me! It surely makes perfect sense right?! 😕

@ShionSinX @Legion499 Translating money amounts is a real pain, especially as Japanese numbers don't work the same as English ones

I was confused by the amounts given in this translation, so here is my interpretation
[ul]Firstly, the amount declared by the Margrave as being in the bag
50 Platinum, which is 50 Million Cent, the army was 2 thousand strong so funding of 25 Thousand Cent per man for supplies for a 3-6 month mission seems about right[/ul]
[ul]Here onto the first translation mistake, 20% of this should be 10 Platinum or 10 Million cent, given in the translation as 1 Million cent
In the next panel MC thinks of this as a Billion Yen, which is the (mathematically) correct share of the 50 Platinum / 50 Million Cent[/ul]
[ul]Then on to the inheritance from his master's estate, I believe the Margrave actually quotes the deposit at the guild at 10 Million Cents (not a Billion Cents) which the MC again thinks of as "another Billion Yen" totaling an income of "2 Billion Yen" (20 Million Cents)[/ul]
If it were in fact a Billion Cents in the master's guild savings that would make it 1 Thousand Platinum, which would make no sense storyline wise (but I won't post the spoiler as to why)
