Damn, kinda of a waste to hand over all the loot. Having a fist sized piece of that huge magic stone and a bone big enough to make a cane (to put the magic stone on) would have been great. Perhaps even a fang or claw to make a slashing weapon out of (sword or daggers usually).

Also if I were him, instead of keeping the family's name Id get a new one my own, perhaps his master's family name or something like that.

This. It’s been happening the whole time too. As soon as something major happens EVERYONE knows about it seemingly instantly. There’s no scenes or mention of any information being relaid and it just makes things confusing.
