Besides, with Yamada nearly assassinated and Hiroto nearly getting his teeth kicked in, he's tired of the harassment from the student council members. Can't blame him for going on the offensive to stop it.

It was inevitable for Hiroto to go on the offensive eventually against the student council members but he keeps getting derailed from his plan to build a superteam by these sideplots. At least with the upcoming fight, Hiroto will be forced to expedite his team building mission.

Simply put,it's not tournament,it's a single survival battle,considering the way she put it,it may seem that such battles are common practice,which makes sense for such power hungry,power corrupted,mindsets that have taken feminism radical thinking to great heights thanks to having no equals.

Well,at least the cray crays in the council are that extreme,others are just a touch above the real balance point.

He wants to hide it,and quite literally said not long after in this very chapter that they won't simply leave him be,so challenged her specifically(which if he won,might've gained him the secret power he suspects she has),but the council escalated the situation.

Though,if he is smart and the whole enemy line up is cute enough,that's five more chicks to bang,so long as the wager haggle is done correctly(that wagering power should help),which would go along with the four chicks that he now has to find in time.

Finally,the rings was an interesting point,since it revealed that what he doing was not entirely unique,but also gave us the very obvious solution to his male ghost buddies...unless some of y'all were expecting him to get it one like Donkey Kong with cute n' funny crossdressing femboys...which is not out of the question yet,but actually taking that action would mean finding a dude whose power is worth having so much that you make 'em more then just a bro.

If so,then that would be a plot point about more males having not fully tapped into their powers(which might actually be the reason for the whole gender imbalance,an on purpose move by the government insiders),and our mad lad chad deciding to tap them just to get those powers.

Also,a fun lil' tangent is how this series is basically the civilian side of Chained Soldier,because I do not doubt the same level of gender imbalance has not been good on that series where dudes can't gain any powers(albeit not having said powers since birth might be balancing aspect)...

...not that any of that can be double checked,since it too was among the butchered.

Most likely anyone from Prince's team. Since they both have a common enemy, Hiroto can probably work out a deal to get them to help him with the upcoming battle.

If Yamada is actually a participant in the battle and not simply there to use Ririka's ability to lock in the battle, then Yuu needs to be there at least to protect her since Yamada is not a fighter. Also, Hiroto was planning to challenge Yuu before he was distracted by the kidnapping plot. If he wins, he can force Yuu to help him
