From the way they showed the flashback on page 18, I think it's supposed to be the assassin's thoughts up to the point where Misora has thought bubbles. (Just came back to say that because it was bugging me.) No wait, no. Just up until the large panel gap where it switches to Misora's thoughts. (So the "I will die!!" is the last thing I think we see from his thoughts before the switch.)
