Girl is giving too much and the people are getting complacent, thinking that the source of "Free" food will always be there instead of actually using this time as a chance to build up their resources. The guy visiting had a point: You give people every reason to exploit her welfare and no reason to get off it. And as a result the poor girl is stretched thin, even her with her almost boundless magical powers.

Okay, I absolutely call bullshit.
If a bunch of starving people under the thumb of oppression, surrounded (as established) by a noble class who extorts them and keeps them from rising up in the world in any way, one day found that they had a magical fairy of a girl who could provide them with food...
...they would be defending her with their life.
This feels like some lazy-ass "the poor are all lazy and ungrateful" straw-man nonsense, and I'm so sick of this shit that it's bothering me even though it's a nonsense comedy series?
(Okay: Granted the point may be in a second that they're all possessed or something given the kids' commentary at the end. If that's the case I forgive the author.)

There's a stark difference between helping the poor and downtrodden when they need a bit of a helping hand to get back on their feet, and giving out unlimited free stuff all the time with no limit. Of course it would probably take a little longer than a week for them to get this bad, but taking things for granted is what humans do when they don't have to put in any effort to reap the rewards. This goes for poor and rich both.

This is incredibly stupid because welfare has time and time again proven to be a good thing for Society at Large. While there will be a small percentage of people that will abuse it the majority of people that use welfare are people that legitimately need it. The whole thing of looking down on welfare comes from the Victorian era where they believed all luck comes from God so if you're homeless and can't find work it's because you're an evil person and God is punishing you.
