I would have found good if the translatation adapted the whole idea of kansai dialect with slangs and polite language. Would have make sense as she looks like a delinquant and often use slangs. Even works with the idol that should always be polite but could sometime let slip some slangs and finding this cute. You know, neither of these translations really gets the idea of the dialect change across very well, but in like complete opposite ways... I definitely prefer this version and think that it's more readable overall, (I hate translations that just paste in Japanese particles like they mean anything at all in English.) but maybe there could have been a better way to mark the change in speech?
Because the precedent of her speaking "normally" (relative to everyone else) has already been established, you can't really do the usual "Kansai's a southern accent, y'all!" (not that that's necessarily the best way to go about it, anyways) and using some other English dialect would completely miss the point of her "standardizing" her speech, doing the exact opposite instead.
Maybe a font change could work? Like using something more print-style compared to the script-style of most of the rest of the fonts? Though I think that getting the right balance between "obviously different" and "looks out of place" would probably be a bit difficult, huh...

That's a big improvement (not that your previous version was bad), makes it way clearer when she's slipping back into Kansai dialect. Thanks for the TL and actually caring enough to change stuff based on feedbackJust a quick announcement, We just updated the chapter a hour ago!
Yeah at best, you'd had to have her retoractively talking in slang just for the sake of the joke just for this chapter.Dialect-based situations are always tough to translate, since there really isn’t a direct correlation in English, so I think you have to have a certain amount of trust and respect for your audience and assume that they’re going to “get it,” while the audience has to give the TL a certain amount of leeway in anglicizing the speech. The other option is a ton of tacked-on Japanese and TL notes, which I feel get in the way of naturally enjoying the story.
All told, I think this translation is well done. I do wish our boy would step up a bit and take a chance, though.
