I'm simultaneously impressed by your knowledge and grossed out by your referring to the female body as "lovely bits" and "treasures within". The contrast between the technical information and the creeper language somehow makes it worse.I'm surprised at how out of touch this artist is with what goes into wearing a kimono when it's obvious they've looked at a number of designs? It's amazing how much fabric/thread is involved in the whole garment. From the nagajuban inner layer (w/ sash) to the outer kimono layer, obi, then the obijime... a girl wearing a furisode wants everyone to see how awesome she looks. She's usually had a family member help her to get everything on, so her armor has been sealed tight by someone with a vested interest in it not being sloppy. If you had a burrito, completely wrap it in another tortilla, give it a foil belt, then grab some paracord and tie a square knot around it... you'd have a woman in a kimono. If she wants you to see the lovely bits underneath, she's going to be actively instructing you on how to help her get out of it and into the treasures within.
From the stitching examples I've seen, because I've only personally felt a decorative men's do-ura, the sode seems designed to hemmed or repaired as needed... so her sleeve would probably rip, but the rest of her outfit wouldn't even budge.
Sorry, I'm just a big fan of outfits and uniforms, so I like to learn about the components and designs.
Heh. You're reading a manga where a girl takes off underwear to turn back time and is blackmailing a guy to put new underwear on her but you're creeped out by metaphor? That's pretty funny.I'm simultaneously impressed by your knowledge and grossed out by your referring to the female body as "lovely bits" and "treasures within". It was just the way you phrased it, it was viscerally icky. Not criticising you, that’s just the way my brain reacted when I read your comment.Heh.
