Imagine how bad this would be if the world champ had been set up as this lazy, undisciplined bum who barely trained for this, was in shit condition, and got his ass handed to him for most of the match. Imagine if the entire arc had been all about how Mashiba had been struggling all his life and overcome insurmountable odds to reach here. Good thing neither of these things happened, otherwise this would be one dogshit conclusion to an arc that already overstayed its welcome with a terrible opponent.
