It is treatable with surgery, but the biggest issue is any unattached areas of the retina start dying and causing more problems as time passes, and he seems to be doing whatever he can to avoid doing it. So, even in the scenario that he were to do the surgery at this moment in the story's timeline? Parts of his vision is already gone and unrecoverable.

So he should end up blind in that eye eventually, if the theory is correct. They never mentioned a treatment though, not even a visit to the doctor iirc. Why they didn't do that?

He didn't do it because he wants to speedrun his multi weight class conquest. If he let on that he has eye damage he would have to take a break at best, and retire at worst.
