This seems like standard Ippo fight, why the fuck did Snoopy hate this so much anyway?
For starters, Take fought 33 matches, right? How is it possible that no one noticed that he's an in-fighter until now? Or the fact that he's a southpaw for the matter? Did everyone fall asleep for 33 matches straight until it's the MC's turn to fight?
This is supposed to be the boxing match where the veteran shows up the inexperienced champion. So why on earth was he pulling his punches? He should be fouling the MC without being caught non-stop and exploiting the bleeding cut to the max.
Takamaru making the "He's a real man" comment is insane too. In previous chapters he said that a true boxer would do everything to win. But now he did a 180?
For a supposed veteran Take feels like a one-trick pony. You'd expect him to have multiple back-up plans since his KO uppercut isn't KOing the MC but instead he just has... nothing. Everything was for that one trick. For the latter half of the fight he was basically unconscious too.
Also I'm pretty sure he wasn't the first southpaw the MC fought. Maybe I'm misremembering, but I was sure he fought a southpaw before.
On that note not teaching the MC at least the basics of fighting a southpaw seems... stupid. Or for the MC to not have done at least some reading (which he should have considering how hardworking he is) on how to deal with southpaws ever.
