What a cute and fluffy chapter! I love it so much! I also like that there's some flashbacks for some development. So, since they went to the same grade school, he really did know her. But why hide it? Is it because he is ashamed that he didn't help her out when she was in trouble due to his detached attitude towards other people, and during that Hotaru was those other people?

Ah. Then it probably wasn’t a coincidence that he went to that park after being dumped in chapter 1. Hotaru mentioned she went there quite often in elementary, so he probably saw her there when they were kids and associates it with her. Whether he had a crush on her back then is unknown (probably) but he obviously has some guilt over being too cowardly to comfort her.
