This chapter brings up a great point- everyones experiences of gender is different! Even though a lot of times people define it by dysphoria (discomfort with/negative feelings about being perceived as the wrong gender), that's not the sole deciding factor! Theres also Gender *Euphoria*! The happiness of being perceived correctly or of having your appearance feel right. And to me the happiness in this chapter is definitely the same.
For instance, I don't actually have serious problems with my body (tho I get dysphoria from other things), but having my voice change and my face sharpen made me incredibly happy 💖
Also her mom being so sweet makes me happy... *my* mom always said whenever someone comes out to you, you should get them a cake (or similar) to celibrate. I feel like having your coming of age ceremony is kind of the same feeling.
