You'd be surprised. In some states in the US, sex-ed doesn't exist, outside of "don't do it before marriage", as many states are religiously conservative. Even in this age of the internet, if you don't want to learn something, you'll just take the simple answer. I can't speak for other countries however.

@Hejti @yetiwarrior : The problem isn't just in the US. Even in Europe there is a lot of region and a lot of families that doesn't teach any sex-ed to their children, especially the girls. This is quite a big problem actually, as you can imagine.
