Agreed, since support classes don't need to actively participate in a brawl, they have more time to look at everyone's status and give instructions accordingly.
That's why I look up to Shiroe from Log Horizon who was an amazing guild leader thanks to it.
It depends on how much they participate, but you can't underestimate the value of a good support.
Combat is an action economy, and an extra set of hands and eyes will always be fantastic.
Saitou in particular has made himself in indispensable "pawn" that can flexibly help any role be better at their jobs.
@Aoitenshi Oh me oh my Me too! Shiroe is my all-time top 10 favorite protagonist. The way he won with information and battlefield control is so cool. In fact, I'm playing Divinity OS2 with his image in mind while choosing skills for my main character. He now focuses on controlling enemy and teammate position. I really love it when I teleport an enemy leader from another side of the cliff to me and have all four of us gang up on him lol.
A team captain in game like Dota 2 and League of Legends is always without a doubt, the support user. They're the one that enable their team fight potetial.
