Lol, yes! Atleast the author had the ball to kill her tho it seems like a mere excuse to avoid confronting or justifying to the readers of her not getting punch in the face and abandoned or worse for what she so proudly did to the daughter.
Glad mc recovered, she deserves all the happiness. An antagonist death is a good motivator for success and betterment of one self.
Thank you author for killing her but you could
have made it a little more gruesome or atleast her dying alone would have been a better choice.

Happy mc and good relationship with her step sister, surrounded by friends and the mom dead(you take what you get...if its still good you learn to accept it). Mc finally gew to truly enjoy and love what she is good at for herself and for that I give this manga 7/10.

This... this is not how you end a story of a kid being abandoned by a parent... resentment? hatred? indifference?

After all the things that she had been through, all of the things that she felt, in the end she is still playing not be cause of her own volition or because she truly love the sport, but still because of her mom. She did not grow at all, not one bit. I mean why? Why didn't she understand that her mom does not harbor any feeling towards her? Why make this kind of ending?

ARRRGHHHH!!! fuk it, I'll just trust my head cannon.

1st timeline
She broke down down the line but got back up, then played badminton again, this time not because she wants to impress, but just get better at the game that she loves.

2nd timeline
didn't go back to badminton and played tennis instead.

Edit:
I stand corrected,

"Why didn't she understand that her mom does not harbor any feeling towards her?"

The mom did felt something... It was sadism, a perversion of the innocence of not only Hanesaki but also to Connie

and to add, Assassination Classroom handled this kind of situation better.

People really happy that Uchika died to cancer? I thought it would be a lot better to just get her into some car accident or something. It really bring up a good question about if I want to see someone die from suffering to cancer but without showing anything, or, if I want all the pain just comes at once and I am able to watch it.

Anyway, just as psycho as what I said up there, which is nothing wrong, considering this manga is ass, I think her dead is way too good, in that she escapes from everything she has grown. As I read to chapter 72 when Ayano finally forgives her, I think it would be the best for Uchika to finally grow up and be an adult. The same way it should have been with chapter 19 when Ayano fights the Chinese and she cries. But no, she dies.

That's not even karma! Dying is always the least painful thing and the worst thing to pull out when trying to find sympathy. It's also hurtful as hell for the one who lives and love them. We all hate Uchika because she abandoned her child, but you have one chance here to become good again! Pay and fix for the fault you have made! Ayano love you and she needs you!

Live is so long even 40 years is just half your way. And as long as everything pass by, you may realize not everything is as bad as you thought. It was bad, but you passed, didn't you?

I just can't describe enough my disappointment here. As well as I can only think inside my head about a better way. I just can't accept this kind of ending. It's way too bad.
