This really reinforces just how "safe" Minori feels in Takaharu's home. Takaharu would call it "being too naive/defenseless", but thanks to her friend's POV, we see that--no, she really puts up walls around everyone when she's off at places like school.
But that home is her safety zone, and where she opens up and becomes much more expressive.

Just nice to see. And, it's nice seeing Minori and Takaharu bounce off one another like this, independent of Kyou - again, reinforcing that Minori sees Takaharu as someone trustworthy and that Takaharu sees Minori as a fixture of his household now. (Even if he's just her cook for the most part.)
I hope Natsuki sticks around. Another potential anchor point for Minori to grow even more, expanding her base of friends and those she comes to trust. He seems pretty okay for the most part, and no one thus far in this series has been "villainous", so I'm not really expecting a straight-up "bad guy" to pop up, at least for Minori of all people.

And of course, any chapter with Naako is a good chapter. Objectively speaking.
hmm actually great point you bring up, havent considered that

I would also not expect any bad guy to show.

I think it's a story about. Like repairing things that once been broken, or bonds in this case. Like kintsugi.

My theory is life simply got in the way of Kyou and MC. Her family broken up, she dropped out of school. With her more livelier outlook, she moved on and eventually met with Minori's dad. But once again, life happened, making Minori her last family member. For MC, with more brooding look, he also moved on somewhat (we saw him being productive in general: cooking, painting, making a living out of his craft), but still could not forget Kyou. Now both of them have the chance to mend their broken bond.
