If daughter isn't some adopted distant relative that nobody wanted to take care of, then I doubt people will like the mother, because from our perspective she just uses her ex with which she didn't have any contact for 17 years to take care of her and her daughter, because presumply her father dipped
Yea that's my prevailing theory in that she's not actually her real daughter. Still doesn't excuse the Ex for not really explaining their circumstances from the onset.. but well it's already entertaining if noting else, to see what contrived plot the author will manage to cook up so we will see!

Wait, so she just shameless enough to ask him for help 17 years later after SHE dumped him, by what it sounds like ?
We don't know the circumstances of the breakup. The friend just said "after you broke up" which is ambiguous. "After she dumped/broke up with you" would be specific and "after you broke up with her" would be less ambiguous but still open to interpretation. It does seem that the breakup was amicable but not desired by him. It could have been family circumstances or obligations, or she could have been a cheater. We just don't know yet. The way these Romance/Slice of Life stories usually go (absent other tags) it's probably something that was forced that neither wanted.

Getting there age wise and I have to disagree, lol. Peeps are not being immature, it is rage bait and people are biting. Small but important difference.

MC might be in his right to allow the leech (would say the same if she was male, btw) to feel better in his own home but she factually is a terrible human being. Even more so if it really is not his kid. But even even more so if she is and the mother kept her from him.
And, again, even more so if she really is not doing any chores or anything at all for him offscreen (nothing on paper for now). She is, for the reader at this point, the worst kind of freeloader. Prime rage bait.
The kid is in middleschool (11-14) and he has no contact with his ex for 17 years... Kinda sus for me if the kid is 14 most likely the mom cheated on him that's why she ghosted him for that long...

Now that I think about it, mc should really check if the 'apartment rebuilding' part of their explanation in the first chapter holds even an ounce of truth. I wouldn't put it past them having been evicted instead, or worse...

I honestly cant believe the author has the gall to straight up acknowledge the crazy background of this setting and just...ok Ima just make this guy dumb and not ask any questions. AND THE FIRST PAGE STARTS OFF WITH SAYING/SHOWING SHE WORKS AN OFFICE JOB?

LIKE...WHY DID SHE EVEN SNEAK INTO THE GUY'S HOUSE IN THE FIRST PLACE?? There is no possible "wholesome" answer to this setup. At the very best, it would be "everyone in her life also cut contact with her (on good terms of course according to people who think this is all okay), her parents are also all dead along with no relatives, and every landlord in the area has banned her." Cus apparently she IS working, but she cant get another place to stay (?)

Like idk why people are calling others sexist/incels over the 2 or 3 guys bugging out at this story when you'd have to REALLY bend your suspension of disbelief over this while just 2-3 chapters in...

I refer specifically to Marxist Communists. These are the types that believe that Capitalist society is controlled by a ruling class of Straight White, Cisgender, Christian Men and that the institutions and social constructs that make it up merely perpetuate this power dynamic by oppressing all those that fall outside of that narrow category. To resist, deconstruct, and dismantle what is viewed as "their" society is, by definition, to dismantle long-standing systems of oppression.

In this worldview, there is no such thing as "truth"; only "power". Truth, morality, objectivity, individualism, gender, etc. are merely social constructs used by the greater powers as a means to "other" those who fall outside of the paradigm. Any interactions between two parties are just power exchanges.

Why are sluts suddenly not bad? Because the very idea of "slut shaming" is an oppressive patriarchal system meant to oppress women's freedom. Fighting against that dismantles yet another "oppressive system".

Why are there "infinite genders"? Well the idea of a gender binary is just an oppressive social construct meant to oppress those of the LGBTQIA+ community. Clearly by dismantling it, we break free of the constraints of the bigotry of the Christian Patriarchy.

You get the idea. The way this happens is by employing, among other things, shaming tactics, bureaucratic capture, and witch hunts. The adherents to this ideology have a very specific dogma that they follow, since they're not only "encouraged" to take on all the positions of the religion, but the positions themselves are often the logical conclusions to the illogical premise.

An analogy: If we start with the idea that Human life has no inherent value, it's not a massive leap to reach genocide. The counterbalance is the idea that Humans are made in the image of God, and every soul is inherently precious due to that fact alone. If you reject that for, say, a practical argument about how Humans might do good things, you run into the fact that Humans also do bad things. Like, clearly, demonstrably bad things, without a second thought. There would, by that logic, be some Humans who literally don't deserve to live. You can only kick the can down the road until Timmy here turns into a serial killer or something.

Is that the right answer? If we have a solid moral stance based on principles, then it's not. Not even close. The idea itself is so far outside of the window of reasonable discourse that even bringing it up is taboo.

But if you don't, then... why not?
Hm, uh, neat.
Wish I understood more (probably my fault).

This entire premise is so fucking bizarre. How the fuck has the dude not moved on after 17 years either? And showing up unannounced, essentially taking advantage of him (not purposely, she's clearly too brain damaged to be purposely spiteful) and him being perfectly fine with it cause can't move on.
It feels way too questionable just from the premise alone.
How hasn't he moved on? Idk, some people just don't, others refuse, some can't. Some people move on in a day, others go decades and never truly move on.

The mere fact and implication that he hasn't or simply can't move on is all the context needed.

He allows the plot of the story because he was weak to her smile (to an uncomfortable degree), always was, and likely will be for the foreseeable future.

It's not that farfetched of a plot point.
The ex being an absolute twit though, is an odd choice, considering she is capable enough to hold a job, and it requires a suit (one small assumption at the end, but point still stands).

Plot is actually... Not that strange compared to some of the things I've seen.

Fucking hate this generation, go read other wholesome manga if you hate this, and let us who like reading manga about people in unhealthy relationship/problematic character read in peace
You can:
A) not read comments
B) read them and emotionally disassociate them
C) read them and completely dismiss them
