This is a little bit over the top. I know the author wanted some drama, but this family is so bad that it is almost hilarious. Why not just make her a servant or a bastard daughter? It would be more reasonable.

Sorry, our TL misread the Japanese as kainushi instead of yatonushi. The "owner" there is supposed to be employer. It's been fixed now!
