->Do you hate baths?
->no
->But you know?
->no

Ok there is no way that's properly translated, that wording makes no sense.
Read right to left:

-> First comes the bath.
-> No.
-> Arwyn-chan, do you hate baths?
-> But you know? --
* forcibly bathes loli * (off screen)
-> No!
-> ...If you { * scrub* } (on screen - now that foam censorship has been applied)
-> ...don't wash { * scrub* }
-> ...your body properly, { * scrub* } you'll { * scrub* } get sick! { * scrub* }
-> Ah!
-> Okay! Close your eyes-
-> Rinsing now! { * splash * }
-> Gyaa!

The poor loli was subjected to non-consensual bathing.

I like how author handled the goblin attack and sole survivor being a small kid - she's not sad about her mom dying, she simply doesn't understand the situation she's in, and people around her are trying to shield her from the truth to lessen the mental impact on her.
What she needs is some stability in new situation, and even her new caretaker mentioning she's half elf gets a reaction out of Arwyn - a link to something she's familiar with.
Also how world is portrayed as harsh and brutal, but people seem to genuinely care about her.

Looking at this raw page, I'm more confused about how they managed to translate a name like アウィ into "Arwyn". I guess "Awy" would be much closer.
Looking at the raws for chapter 1, It looks like her mother does indeed call her "Arwyn". However, she seems to have trouble pronouncing her own name. She calls herself "Awy" when Haten asks for her name, and it seems that every other character refers to her as "Awy" after this point, presumably being unaware that her full name is "Arywn". This is a minor nuance that seems to have been lost in translation.

Let Messmer teach of the proper methods, just change the target to something even more deserving of it.

“lost” is too passive for me. More like “left behind” by someone who doesn't care enough. Also see my above comment about their names. That is more excuseable because it's easy to miss, but Jun officially named them “Harten” and “Auyn”.

Did I miss it or no one pointed out Nayu put her muddied shoe on top of her head and got mud in her hair? :kek:
What a cute potato, she's even sad she made Arwyn cry... she's instantly best character for me

... I can't get over how much a Baby Face the Male Protag has and then he has those Super THICC Arms that look like he could pop my head just by flexing really hard.

I bet his hugs would feel super safe!

Arwyn is a Tolkien-style Elvish name is my guess.
Right. Translation isn't just about purely translating words. It's also to match intent and feel as best as possible. For example, "thieving cat" gets swapped out for "homewrecker" in the appropriate context.

I think Yggdrasil is another name that gets homage often, but would be spelled wrong when translating from Japanese to English.

As long as the names are consistent, and it isn't a plot point, there's no real harm being done.
