I still think its a pretty beta thing to do to let some other joe grab your girl like that and letting him confess to your girl. I really, really hope that this ends the whole Shimura arc.
I like his character and whole tsundere thing he has going on but enough already.
This has gone on for far longer than it should have.

Now, I want to see the track star chasing her younger brother.

You know, I'm satisfied with that. He confessed, he was shot down, he caught a big fish to cope. And in the process, he forced a bit more understanding in the main couple.

Admittedly the whole of his crush was kind of forced into the story, but now, hopefully, this is over, and he can move on and be a character whose defining point is not "I don't understand why I love her so much".
