So I want to preface this by saying I never stab people before but sharpening knives and imagining all sorts of things you could do with it once it's super sharp is enjoyable

Did it slightly bug anyone else that "at an angle of about two 10-yen coins" is meaningless unless you know how far they are from the edge of the knife?

"I now know the meaning of life", said the King, delightfully.
After that, the book were beheaded for looking at the emperor with his eyes.

oh hey my favorite Chinese cooking legend.
Meanwhile actual Chinese chefs with bones: HACK HACK HACK
This. Just take out your giantass cleaver and cut while ignoring the bones. If you can't cut through the bones your arm strength is lacking and/or you need a bigger cleaver.

For anyone else who was curious about the text on p13, it really is that legend.
It's the famous anecdote of Butcher Ding in the classical Chinese text Zhuangzi.

文惠君曰:善哉!吾聞庖丁之言,得養生焉。
“Duke Wen Hui said: ‘Marvelous! From Butcher Ding’s words, I have learned how to nourish life.’”

Disclaimer: I know Japanese, not much Chinese, certainly not classical Chinese, so this is from kagi-ing the characters as rendered in Kanji here.

These chapters are always soothing, thanks for doing them!

Zhuangzhi == old romanization was ‘chuang tzu’ if you’re reading taoism texts

Wait, is that a generic-ass Parker fountain pen? What is Haruka, a fresh graduate out of an American university?! Give her a Pilot Custom Heritage 823 or something more substantial, author-kun! 😅

That said, though, on a more serious note, how does copyright/trademark like this work in manga? It's clearly a Parker fountain pen marked "PARKER" that she's using. I know game developers don't use real firearm trademarks, but can mangakas do otherwise?

I don't get it either. In some chapters he comes up with a fake brand and in others he uses real ones (Toyota when Haruka rented a car).
