I think its really showing for some of the guys here in the comments that the first thing they thought is how it doesnt matter and that she still isn't worthy of being with Maruyama. Author trying to deepen her character outside of just being a tsundere, giving her more background for the reason she acts like that. But instead dudes see that she likes Maruyama and just stops at that
