Parents and siblings bathing with little kids is completely normal when they're family, but to the age he was doing it may call FBI-kun. It explains why she hates him.

@goodie-bag Middle school age isn't really that uncommon in Japan. High school age is rarer but does occur. If it's remaining non-sexual it's not really going to be any weirder to the ones participating than it was before some age cut off point. The factors I'd say contribute to it stopping are generally going to be your basic puberty embarrassment coming in to play, or if you're not quite there yet the other kids saying it's weird because their parents or siblings told them it was weird after they were either told by other kids, siblings, or parents in the past that it was weird and so on and so forth.

Weird's subjective, y'know? Where I live we already think it's weird for any of that past a much earlier point. I don't think I have any memories of my parents actually bathing with me, so much as perhaps washing my hair or just keeping an eye out so there's no accidental drowning or something. Fully clothed, they bathed separately before or after.

@Glomoro It's a joke, please don't take me seriously. A lot of the things I comment, when it's a specific bubble or panel, is just sarcasm or just making a dumb joke that doesn't necessarily warrant response.

The part about fbi-kun was obviously a joke but the part about it being weird and possibly why his daughter is cold towards him didn't come across as a joke? And I think whether something warrants a response is dependent on how the comment comes across, you can't really set rules for it. You can only communicate after the fact.

Also I will say I sort of interpreted it similarly to what you wrote. Even if it isn't in a creepy or sexual way, some people might consider that to be weirdly close for a family to do. If the child is self conscious they might over compensate and become outright antagonistic as a teen or young adult. Though I also agree with Glomoro that it's all ultimately subjective, so I'd still consider it more an explanation of the daughter's behavior than a justification.
