Nee-san, don't mind the translator comments and be yourself. Do that shower scene. I'm ready.

@Winterspring: I agree. I think we may get a plot twist that first love zombies don't disappear when there is mutual confession but fused with the girl as the realization of first love makes them real and not fantasy anymore. Kinda like instead of disappearing to snow globe, they go back to where they really belong
Oh, I like that theory. It feels so natural, asspull avoiding wholesome.

Fusion is just a stupid copout to avoid having an OT3 by letting the author pretend Eve and Ibusuki are both together with Tarou when instead he just killed off an interesting character and voided all her character development throughout the manga so that Ibusuki fans can win without feeling guilty about Eve getting fridged in favor of the "real" human girl.

Would you also consider Rem and Emilia from Re Zero (or Betty and Veronica or whichever girls in love triangle you choose) getting cut apart and sewn together into a frankenwaifu a "good" ending?

Unless Eve retains her consciousness and a body of her own (or at least sharing control of Ibusuki's body), then fusion is nothing but death for her.

Called it (about the dad's FLZ thing)
And about Ibusuki not being able to see Eve, that came out of nowhere

I don't really understand this idea of "Tarou has to end with someone".
Personally, i am on Eve's side and think that the "omg she's a delusion or whatever" thing is pretty stupid considering she already has a psyche. I mean, we always let Mcs fall in love with zombies, angels, dragons, succubus, vampires , aliens, parasytes, ghosts, monster, animals and even a fucking house one time. Not only do i not see what the big deal is but i also think this is the most interesting choice.
Anyways, i am getting sidetracked. Basically, i don't see Ririsu and Tarou being a thing at this point with all that has happened so far (not including the fact that i just don't like her) and Ebino has already been rejected.
If Tarou doesn't end with Eve then i think it would be more interesting and better if he just stays single, not for the rest of his life but at the very least i'd rather he didn't end up with either Ririsu or Ebino (tho, if it's Ebino then i wouldn't mind as much. As long as it isn't Ririsu). No Eve fusing with ririsu and no eve being the daughter of ririsu and tarou. None of that

To me that's even worse, it would be like when Gantz killed off Reika and Clone!Kurono and had them reincarnated as mother and child due to their "bond" as lovers.

Like bad enough for Eve to lose to the "real girl" but to end up as the child of them? Wow is that just heaping salt on the wound.

@Lordekomy Peach it!

@InfiniteVerisimilitude

Yeahhhhhh that was /really/ annoying especially given the MC seemed to more romantic time with the HiFuMi than their original.

Them being "just" split personalities only softens the blow a tiny bit

So in a sense they share Eve? Strange. This is going to be a really convoluted explanation when we get there.

Seriously though, this dad is a fucking prick.

Yup, 99% of the time fusion is a bullshit copout, just like harem ends. Super fuckin' lazy attempts to please everyone.

yeah no, Harem ends mean "all the girls are happy and with the person they love" which is infinitely better than stuff like developing characters, teasing a relationship with the MC, giving them a super sad backstory that usually has the MC as the reason they're able to live happily and then expect the readers to be satisfied when they lose out to the main "first girl" ala shit like Hinagiku and Athena in Hayate the Combat Butler.

Please, harem ends are pretty damn close. They've got the same reasoning. Please everyone without making a choice. Fusion endings are harem ends for split personalities. Harems ends are fusion ends for separate people. Liking one but hating the other is so hypocritical.

Haha, thanks. Personally though, I just want Eve and Ibusuki to end up together (nonromantic) and Tarou can do whatever(choose either girls) but author shut it down when he made her mention it and showed why it's not possible.

@1986ctcel @Yautja
Although I didn't really watch Voltron much, I was thinking more on the case with Shiro and his clone when it comes to "fusion". I find comparing it to any normal love triangle to be a rather poor allegory as Eve is a rather special case. She is "based" on a person, starting out as a modified branched out immaterial copy (that is turning into her own individual). The examples you cited (the one I recognized), they are completely different people with completely different origin. At least compare it with that manga where a guy created an android that looks like his crush (I forgot the title and I didn't really read it) or Cindy in One Piece.

Hmmm. I guess rather than focusing on character investment (like choosing which girl is best/worst), I am more inclined on a possible philosophical substance which can happen (considering this is romcom, I don't expect much). The Dream vs Reality. Perfection vs Imperfection. How to hold on or let go, etc. The FLZ(w/ exception of Eve) and current plot eerily reminds me of that report about Japan where men found "love" in their silicon dolls, ditching their real wives/woman and family for it. It would have been somewhat understandable if it's just that, but I find it laughable and hypocritical for the ones who say their doll feels more human/person than real humans when the reason they love it in the first place is that it's a doll that does whatever they fancy. Eve is kinda different because she acts more like a personification of First Love or Love in general. She got her own will, though she's still stuck as a FLZ - to be modified at will by her creator and made to love him forever. That's why I like her tandem with Ibusuki, because her attachment to her is made by her own choice compared with Tarou. I find her as personification of love because as a FLZ, she wants her realization to happen. Meanwhile, he doesn't want her to disappear even though he loves Ririsu. Ibusuki thinks he loves Eve so she plans to support Ebino. I find Eve's realization to be quite a fitting ending (or at least her leaving Tarou's side as that shows her being free from being FLZ). Though I guess a bitter-sweet First Love can also do as an ironic ending when they made everyone have successful first love and they didn't.

Dunno why you tagged me in that, it's more of a response to the other guy that barely involves me. I wasn't speaking on any manga in particular, which seems to be the focus of your comment, just the general sentiment.

@Yautja Lol, sorry. I guess I got into a phase of wanting to reply to people that reply to me, probably from disqus. Should I edit it out? (it's supposed to be two different comments anyway).
I wasn't focusing on particular mangas either. It is supposed to be just a general sentiment. I just tended to ramble on when explaining to others

Doesn't really matter to me, I was just pointing out that I don't see why you tagged me in that comment as it doesn't really relate to what I was saying.

Since we're on the subject of ending coupling, I want to see Tarou end up with Ririsu's mom. Damn, she's a fine MILF.

And it would make me laugh.

Okay. I thought it's better to mix 2 replies in one post rather than consecutively posting two (since it might've be seen as spamming). It's short anyway. I thought separating the usernames and paragraphs were enough, though I guess I have to add a divider of something to make it clearer.

Haha. I heard of males finding their love interests as their mom. Never thought of the other way around, that's quite a unique and very random idea you have there. Not into either though
