Historically speaking, the difference between "mercenaries" and "bandits" was simply the difference between "wartime" and "peace". Mercenaries, like privateers, are just bandits you've paid off to go bother someone else for a while.

Anyways, is it just me, or did this manga end rather abruptly?

Yes, it feels like we're not even in the halfway point of the story, and there's a ton of plotlines left unexplored.

Definitely should have been a bit more before the wrap up its a shame but as a whole I enjoyed this alot author has great art need to check out more.
