Nah, mate, the fun is in deliberately misinterpreting the expressions. Like, what are they really thinking? For example, with that last panel (and given the rather angry look that the guard has shown in every other image) it looks like he's gotten sick of the MC's obvious lies. He's not opening the door to take him to the guild, but locking it so that no one interrupts the brutal abuse that's about to happen.
