Get 'em, kiddo!
I think it more or less stems with Japan's values in humility which the MC still values a lot.I'm starting to feel disgust towards this protagonist. If someone stepped on my head they better be strong enough to deal with me.

Despite being powerful, he still cares for those lower than him because he has been there before. And he apologized to the old man and let him step on his head because while he is not totally involved in it, he is still "the Guardian" of his classmates so he is partially to be blamed. Kinda like how we blame parents too when their kid has a fuck up too.
The old man, while excessive in force, he is rightfully mad. All his family and life's work burned down by a couple of kids in just a few minutes, and then the guardian of said kids who burned it down comes in apologizing comes in... Multitude of emotions stir up but what is most upfront is anger. Anger that everything that your family and life has worked for burned and a commoner looking guardian not older than those kids who burned it is telling you that he will reimburse it? You will see it as a joke. And anger is an uncontrollable emotion most of the time.
The MC just chose to be an outlet to those emotions because he is also partially to be blamed. What he did there, while a defeatist outlook, is a normal action and besides, if you have the power to just take the lashing of their anger, why not just accept it?
Thank you for noticing. I have changed it to singular "is".Thx for the TL ❤️
Only issue i noticed is small, when kento is explaining to manon about yuika, you used are instead of is. Page 10 i think
