Thanks.

...It's still hard for me to believe that nobody in that world ever tried cooking with a common ingredient like "losing potion."

@AnimefangirlX That's because no-one knew it was edible, all they knew it was a random drop from mobs and it made you sick if you drank it. If they never tasted those seasonings before it's safe to say even people from our world would see the "losing drops" as bottles of poison.

@speedysam0 That’s true, didn’t think about that! He probably thinks everyone died or something because no one was buying bread anymore

@HDMI1 Going by that logic, nobody knew burying poisonous shark and digging it out later would make it "edible", but we sure figured it out somehow. A lot of not obvious things exists in the world, and hunger is a driving source for everything. The fact that hunger had not driven someone to find out ways to consume "failed potions" if the world has such a large focus on dungeon economy is pretty contrived

well the potions will kill you if you drink them, so unless there is a necessity to drink them, yeet them.
we need food to live, so the potion isn't food, its liquid, and as long as water is plentiful/less poison then the potion, no reason to deal with the potion

keep in mind, oil use to be an annoyance before we knew how to use it, and that was how many thousands of years of digging wells before we figured that out?

@Ixiaz it's more like how society grew stable enough to discard materials we're not familiar with. if a system works, it works, much like how modern medical practices only had room to develop after people started to question everything, and we started defining phenomenons because of those people
for example, on the wild goose chase of finding El Dorado, a city of gold, they threw out tons and tons of platinum which has more value than gold, simply because it wasn't a yellow tint they were familiar with. gold was still used as currency during that period, but they swept a bunch of platinum into the see because it "wasn't gold" gold today, aside from the accessories, is mainly utilized in circuit boards but that's it.

So now the dungeon rules say "Rely on each other", but at the start it was "If you can't do it on your own, you're screwed"?

Seemed to me that if people dilute winning potions and drink them, someone would have thought of diluting the soy sauce, noticed it's just salty and used it instead of salt, which seems to be rare and hard to find in their world. Especially when there's poverty and orphans all over the place.
