It's just a guess of mine that I've had since watching the anime, where I noticed that she has gold eyes. You can't really tell from the manga because it's all in black and white.

Could be the golden-eyed monsters are actually goddess-derived, and she's just a super-shitty evil deity & OG source of them.

But I'd have to reread whether the origins of the golden-eyed monsters was alreadt explained in-story, unless there's a potential for the "established in-setting lore" to be an obfuscating lie or something.

She would be extremely weak as a goddess, so yes. In real history and under polytheism, there were ancient rulers who had themselves declared gods. The most famous are probably the pharaohs, who were considered divine, even if still below the main gods. In a world of magic, someone who got their hands on suitable power and knowledge not available to most, gaining immortality and other boons, they might be able to become a deity of flesh and blood easily enough. That's how I always viewed Vysis. Kind of like the Tribunal in Morrowind, if you have played Elder Scrolls games.

They actually talk about the golden eyed monsters having shitty personalities and being sadistic A LOT and that perfectly matches with this "goddess" BRO how old is she for the humans to think she is a goddess. How long has she been manipulating things??? That's crazy

In the anime she was wiggling and jiggling all over, which is the only excuse I can offer for any of the humans/demi-humans to have not figured out that she's the worst monster around, so I can give you a pass for not noticing it too.

I think this is one of the best manga currently because the author does a good job making cool things like the art change to say "the tale of the fly king who defeated the strongest dragon rider" and the 2 faced goddess.
