Someone in the last thread had theorised the reason why he could use so much earth magic was because he had a greater knowledge of the minerals and such from his isekai'd memory, which would be smart writing but... NO HE JUST HAS MORE MAGIC POWERS THAN OTHERS, LOL! :qq:

why did amanda trashtalk MC if she has an earth mage on her team? wtf...
This is exactly what I was about to write. Either your magic doesn't matter too much, or she was just sticking her finger into the open wound of her friend and peer, either way it doesn't make sense why she was such a cow.

So basically he can build whatever he wants, only limited by how deep he can pull from his ass.

honestly, the way it went from chapter 1 to 2 was quite the letdown. Claiming you have "more magic" doesn't fit when you're remaking a whole village in the same day as well as hot springs. By this point, it's rather bottomless, infinite magic. And no reasonable explanation AT ALL for why would no one take such measures to increase their magic powers. Hell, even the fact that there is OTHER earth magic user who made it to rank B as an adventurer makes no sense in such a world where earth magic is so despised and deemed useless.

Maybe I missed something but how is Boda village even a thing? A crummy wooden wall was all that defended this village that is in an area with strong monsters or at least stronger than the avg. villager and just a chapter ago the merchant mentioned a dragon or the like. I know I'm supposed to turn my brain off for spots like that but that village should have been destroyed a month after it was created before the MC ever gets to it.

Yeah, when you start mixing science with high fantasy it gets kinda silly unless they make an effort to combine them together.
Granted it could still turn out pretty funny but it does break immersion alot.

" Release That Witch " managed to pull it off pretty well because they never added rare metals and stuck to the "classics".

I Also do recall there was a Isekai Novel who explained away "Mithril" to be some type of Aluminum alloy enhanced with magic.
And when it was de-enchanted/ drained off magic it became plain old aluminum which is how the MC found out.
MC then proceeded to abused the heck out of it by finding out the right alloy combination and then mass producing Mithril.
Sadly i don't remember the name of it.
I also read Korean Web Novel about scientist overworked and reincarnated into novel (I forgot the title I read in 2018), but MC "Fck it with novel plot, I am gonna lazy" somehow he ended up town building shenanigans,
He can made Adamantine from Iron Carbide Infused with Slime Core,

I was about to say I seem to remember something where mithril was titanium—which, similarly inspired. (Though I can't remember anything about what it was in, only that that happened and that it was similarly a case of 'yeah, that checks out').

I don't recall anyone addressing adamantium or whichever other "not light, but super-strong" metal name we're choosing today, but if we follow the thought-process, tungsten alloys seem awfully plausible as a candidate.

In fairness it's difficult for us, knowing so much about the world nowadays, to not reflexively envision it with the basic building blocks that we now understand, like the elements. And yet the most usual practical definition of magic at this point is effectively the very fact that it doesn't obey the laws of physics (Not that common sci-fi works usually follow them either, but you're like, supposed to at least pretend a bit that you are XD).

At the end of the day, I do suppose I'm not sure why I should be bothered by nonexistant magical metals with no elemental basis any more than I should be bothered by violations of matter/energy conservation, or local manipulation of "gravity" without it in any way involving an attraction between masses, or everyone still breathing just fine after someone's been spamming "fire" magic. A meticulously constructed 'alternate physics' of magic definitely has its appeal, but other times I think it's fine to embrace the whimsy and wishy-washiness!

(...I say, even as the wishy-washiness of this particular series maddens me XD)

The more i read the more i continue to hate the leader lady of the adventurers. I mean its a service job in the end, as a contractor myself id never dream of insulting a customer, especially one that pays so far above industry standard. Everything that comes out of her mouth is insulting an rude. To the point where im confused on how she was given the position of leader when shes such an abrasive personality. Id imagine adventuring would work like any other contracting job and creating a social network to promote your skills and group would come first and foremost. Shes just an active hindrance to her group

Edit: tiddys huehuehuehuehuehue
This I’m rereading chap 1 and two and I think I must have just skimmed past her remark in chapter one and now everything she does just ticks me off well cept for Tiddy hat

She like those nasty slime all characters that change their tune once they realize the person they were being rude and mean too is powerful or influential and it’s not like she remorseful when asking him for things like zero pride weasel energy is what she is giving off

when what I assume the author wanted to portray was strong leader type she instead comes of as arrogant and honestly unprofessional he literally as a client asked one question and she brought up earth magic immediately in ch1 and here she’s asking him to build shit for her honestly rather than explain why she is this way it feels like they are saying forgive her she has big hoonkers or worse they don’t see what she’s done as wrong

No clue why his inspired one of my shitty rants maybe I’m just bored.
