This is so insulting (to who? I dunno, maybe to starving people.) When people are starving they will literally eat anything. They would have already eaten the animal feed.

At first I disliked this story. But then I saw the cool cover of him sitting in a chair-like Throne. I hope this has Romance with the cat girl!

Thanks for the chapter!
No matter the world there's always scummy humans who think it's alright to just grab and sell somebody just for being different.

She's not eating all the rice because it tastes good, but because part of the cooking process created sake as well!

Yeah, no. Average cooking mangas just exaggerate the taste of everything.
Rice for animal feed. How luxurious, in a bad sense.
Wheat actually has a lot of uses.
The stem can be dried and made into straws. Cows may also feed on this.
The seed, rice or the smaller broken rice during the process of splitting the rice from its husk can be straight up used as feed for chickens, birds, etc.
The husk can be used as fuel, or can be grinded and cooked into another type of animal feed for omnivores such as pigs or even dogs. Sometimes during famines, people would feed on this too.
And the cooked rice can once again be used to feed human but also livestock.

What’s that he put inside the rice?
Don’t be fooled plain cooked rice itself isn’t any good, you can taste its sweetness with a small amount but a spoonful? Meh after a few chewing and then the sugar taste is gone it feels like ewww go on try it, my staple food is rice, sure there’re a lot of kind of rice with their stickiness and shapes but it’s only delicious when eating with side dishes, it’s compatible with almost all type of dishes, but plain it’s like eating a water-soaked bread.
