Thanks for translating 2 chapters in a row.

Shes still the best girl-failure!! I dont understand what ppl want from this arc, this series is a comedy but ppl seem to want the fmc to get SAed, smh.

Theres also been an IRL sex scandal that rocked Fuji TV whos airing stuff like Dragon Ball. The whole station was pimping out female talent, now they almost lost all their ads. Wild how this series can be so realistic about the entertainment industry.
Goes to show that when it's said "This is a problem with the entertainment industry" it doesn't mean it's universally applicable to their entire industry. It means that individuals within the industry do these things, because they're in positions of authority. It's not a critique of entertainment so much as a critique of hierarchy and commodification.

what makes the fuji tv scandal bigger is that it wasnt just an individual or a small group. It was systematic, from the execs to normal employees.

Fuji tv is also like massive. Like just animewise they have dragon ball, one piece, saezasan(longest running anime).

But it's not really a criticism of the whole industry, it was mostly used for a shock value. And I don't think he was right on anything he was just really manipulative. He just wasn't cartoonishly evil. I didn't hate-read these chapters but I was disappointed because they weren't really interesting.

he actually had principles in the way that he waited for consent, but still isn't far from blackmail as you won't get what you want if he doesn't get what he wants.
in the end he wasn't that bad since the arc ended on a nice note, thx tl for the double release

i think that's the main issue with this arc. Tone inconsistency. The tone of this manga is light-hearted, dealing with some grimm issues with humor and ridiculous situations. It does try to make a point about idol and Adult entertainment. In this case the tone and the idea it wanted to work with just clashed too much.

Makes know sense how this happened. Like why wouldn't someone come out and talk about it like it was the whole station and shit

Seems everyone hates this arc, but I find that what the man doing is pretty endearing, no?

He simply states the ugly truth about how society and the showbiz world work, sure it is not the kindest thing to say but it is still the truth nevertheless, and his argument about "pillow business in biz world and normal relations are same" are also not too far from truth. especially in nowadays Japan's society.

It is also true that to get into matchmaking in Japan, men have to state their income, and in reality one of the reasons why Japan has the lowest marriage rate is because women kept demanding higher and higher income rates. (You can watch a recent documentary from "Nobita from Japan"'s channel about this). If matchmaking, dating, and marriage have money give and take as the foundation, how is that different from what this man doing?

To add, he didn't force Sumire and he didn't create a situation where Sumire had to agree with it, he was even willing to start from platonic relations. some say what he did is unrealistic, but in modern society, getting into scandals involving women could destroy your career so what he doing is pretty smart as he wants to establish a clear boundary in a business way to avoid future problems if things goes south.
i like this arc. the conclusion is good and precise. it didn't make the reader have too long time in tasting this bad taste of something that happened in real life. give people something to wary without being too straight into it (because it would change the genre). it's actually pretty deep plot with a lot of thought in it.

and the others who seems like hating on this arc, well that was fine too. people have different principal in that. they are not wrong with that. just don't be naive about that. in a world that overrule by money, even people who used to look strong in commitment in his life can fall in a moment of greed and carelessness. it's not that weird of an arc. this one is better than other mangas that want to talk about this topic

i really disagree with this. if the author didn't took this decision, many readers would leave before the conclusion and the point of this arc wouldn't be read at all. and the genre would change and it's a big deal

people's pride, guilty conscience, manipulative thought, blackmail, money's necessities, laziness, bad connection, lust, madness, greed, jealousy, false hope, revenge, stupidity. this chapter already explain some of this. it's shallow reason but it's working

That's what I'm saying tho? Because of the light hearted tone the author is going for, it demanded to tone down a bit the darkness and the creepiness inherent in abusive and SA cases in the entertainment industry

what i mean this is not an issue of this arc. it's pretty good just like this. it's not actually tone inconsistency, people just have different principal in life it would be pretty hard to get this topic right to most people. making it actually dark would convince reader to leave for good

People, I don't think the guy was doing anything out of his principles or morals. He simply wanted to make sure he couldn't be arrested for this, he has too much to lose if she sued him for rape.

Thanks for the TLs. Honestly thought these would be worse based on people's reactions to the raws of this part of the arc. Her girl partying it up was probably the most in character thing, happy she was able to get out of it unscathed. At least the guy wasn't the worst, definitely would have been fine without this event though. I mean, I am curious if he ever comes back into the story or any significant check up occurs. Anyway, looking forward to future chapters.
