Well, the numbers game to me is just the author saying, Look, this is hellmode. Allen is here for a reason. There is no fucking way these dudes would survive against these kinds of attacks. That is the strength of the demon king. Numbers are just too much for everyone.
Yes, two stars can kill a B-rank monster easily if he levels up and stuff, but 10 at the same time is another level; factor in that equipment as well; nobody has the same as Allen and his party; remember the brothers armor? just garbage.
It was said that normal mode was at the same time as the first invasion, hard mode was as they invaded the empire, and hell mode was as the hero was just holding these monsters at bay.
