To be fair, it was a pretty big leap from "kept a child isolated" to "the child was a trained killer", when all they had was an unusual house plan. Even Sherlock Holmes would not be so sure.

I might just be stupid but the dismembered body was found near the newer mystery house right? But why is the dismembered body's someone from 3 years ago from a case on a different house? Idk where saitama or tokyo is but are they next to each other and the burry site in between them?

If she's been fixating on the unsolved murder, it seems reasonable enough that she could find it fairly quickly if this is all she does in her spare time.

I think the idea is that the bodies were found in separate places but both had missing left hands.

Is it? I feel like this house is even weirder. Like what was already mentioned, the shape is irregular, especially the first floor and the triangle room. The second floor is much smaller as well and there's only one window. Unlike the other house, the children's room isn't hidden at all and is not inconspicuous; the second floor in general looks suspicious from the outside.

Also I feel like the houses might be some sort of red herring. It's strange that the murderers would use these houses when there's so much risk. Like what everyone already commented, all it takes is the victim to mention their whereabouts to a friend or family member to be at risk. If the husband here just told his wife where he was going, it would be an instant game over for the house murderers, especially since they have no way to cover their tracks or confirm that no one else knows about them.
