I appreciate the fact that Kurihara actually called to check in on our intrepid protagonist who just wandered into the Japanese-style murder den with one of its potential murder denizens.

You're a bit of a couch potato investigator at best, but maybe I've been underestimating you, Kurihara.

just open the room 😡 also explore the shrine thing 😡
Probably happening next chapter. It seems plausible that there's an underground passage between there and the bathroom (which also has the same structure as the other houses).

Another curious plot point that was glossed over was the fact that Misaki would either have still been pregnant or recently given birth during that incident. What happened to that child? Timeline-wise he seems to be the most likely candidate for Boy A, but idk if there's some weird hereditary possession thing going on.

I'm not sure how all of this ties back to the lady's sister, and her family. We kind of forgot about that whole mystery and moved on to this. I'm sure it'll all connect together, but I was hoping for them to visit the original house.

Feels like there's gotta be some kind of hidden passage between room 2 and maybe the back of the altar?

Edit: Thinking about how it might work, they haven't gone around to the back of the house yet have they? Could be the house is longer on the outside than the inside.
It's mentioned the altar is exactly the width of the hallway, so it can't be a swinging door. Perhaps there's a mechanism to push it further back, and there's a hidden hallway that goes along the entire width of the house. (Along the top of the grandparents room, room 1 and room 2 if looking at the floorplan)

Such a waste of time and money for the characters to travel there and back and back again smh.

I'm not disparaging the manga at all, I'm really enjoying it. But the nature of the story is that what the author is presenting as horror is just strange architecture. Which in context is creepy.
However, out of context, we get gems like:
"And the Japanese-style house... was bilaterally symmetrical."
Shocked reaction

Whatever secret room/passage there is probably also explains where grandparents have gone to so mysteriously.

Definitely more elegant than my basement idea. Considering the house has no windows, why stop there? Maybe the corridor extends around the entire house.

EDIT: Nevermind it seems like it's only the rooms in the upper right area that have no windows

from previous chapter's info i thought this house has no windows at all. turns out i was wrong. but still, not putting some windows for the bedroom was absolutely bad design choice
