I'm not familiar with that manga, but it doesn't need to be mind control, because Patricia is someone who knows it's the world of an otome game. She only needs to take advantage of knowledge of game's story and abuse genre conventions to have that effect on people, especially the men who are capture targets like the prince. They might as well be that stupid, because they're slaves to the genre of the story they're in.
